Join us for our first Azure Family Concert of the season, featuring Liliana de León-Torsiello, Flamenco dancer

Liliana de León is a multidisciplinary dancer, choreographer, composer, vocalist, educator, and professor of World Dance Studies whose work blends artistry, spirituality, and cultural expression. Beginning her dance training at the age of three and launching her professional career as a teenager, she has performed internationally across Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Germany, and the United States in theater, television, film, and live performance. As the choreographer, soloist, and co-composer of “FLORYPIEDRA,” Liliana combines Flamenco with Mexican Folklórico, Latin popular dance, Latin jazz, post-modern American dance, film, lighting, and spoken word to create innovative interdisciplinary performances. In addition to producing concerts and community-based dance projects, she has taught and created works for schools, universities, festivals, and professional companies. Liliana holds a B.A. in Modern Dance from Arizona State University and an M.F.A. in Choreography and Performance from UCLA, where she also served as an adjunct professor. She currently teaches at South Mountain Community College in Arizona and continues to welcome new creative collaborations and performance opportunities.

Presented by the Tetra String Quartet, Azure Family Concerts are free, one-hour, sensory-friendly performances designed for people of all ages with autism, developmental disabilities, sensory processing differences, and physical disabilities, along with their families and caregivers.Traditional concert settings can be challenging for audience members who communicate, regulate, or engage through vocalizations, movement, stimming, or other forms of participation. Azure concerts joyfully and intentionally welcome these behaviors, creating a warm, judgment-free space where every audience member can relax, participate, and feel that they truly belong. Family members and caregivers of all ages are encouraged to join in the fun!

This performance will feature Liliana de León-Torsiello, flamenco dancer, and will be followed by an instrument petting zoo.
