Marcos De Niza and Tempe High Quartet Residency Project

The mission of the Quartet Residency Project is to teach musical and interpersonal skills through the study of chamber music, and apply these skills through public service. Tetra’s curriculum is based on the core values of Collaboration, Artistry, Perseverance and Service (CAPS). Through practicing these values, young musicians develop life skills that are relevant beyond their high school orchestra experience. Tetra has partnered with the Tempe Union High School District since 2013 and has been annually awarded the City of Tempe Wavemaker Arts Grant.

“Through the implementation of an Ensemble-in-Residence at Marcos de Niza High School, our orchestra students received training and guidance in the elements of chamber music and ensemble playing. I witnessed a plethora of growth amongst my students in musicianship, confidence, leadership, and communication with others. Tetra drives to educate and develop the next generation of musicians in a positive, innovative way. I look forward to collaborating with them for many years to come!”
